From behind .. funny!The summer has now come to an end, and so has the nice weather! We had a really busy summer and got to do all sorts of new things. We made a visit to the park recently, for the first time. He loved the swing and looked around at all of his surroundings. He is much more aware of things around him - people, moving trees, grass, the chain of the swing, etc. He had his 1/2 birthday and celebrated being 6 months on October 1st. Absolutely amazing that he is already 6
months old. Mommy and Daddy can't wait to experience all the new things he learns, but we love the age that he is at now.
We are still slobbering EVERYWHERE, but still have not seen any teeth break through. His gums are turning more white, so I am thinking maybe they are going to be popping through soon. He is sitting up more and more, although he is not 100% stable on own - but the time that he sits up is getting longer and longer. He has just learned how to hold his bottle, long enough to put it in his mouth. We are still working on holding the bottle, although he can do it for a few seconds.
He has a new bath seat that allows him to sit up! It is helping him work on sitting up, and he is now able to play with his bath toys. Although, playing to him is sticking each of them in his mouth! The child hates to lay down, so we are not rolling over and have not began to crawl. I need to get an area rug for our living room so that he can start to work on getting up on his knees. He sings all the time, and has learned all sorts of new sounds. He has a high pitched noise that will get your attention in a second. He has learned how to fake cough, which is quite hilarious! He will cough to get your attention, then smile and giggle once he has it and you look at him! Silly, just like daddy!
Lastly, we got the official results of the Genetic Testing and blood work from Evan's dr visit 3 months ago. They have identified both mutations and he does have MCADD, the enzyme disorder. But, the good news is that he has the 2 most common mutations, that they know, and it is the least severe case. His Dr. seems to believe that we should not have many issues, if any. Right now our hurdle is to keep him from getting sick, which can become quite a task with the flu, swine flu, and just winter sicknesses going around. If Jason and I were to have more children, we will have to go through Genetic Testing. We keep changing our minds, but we have plenty of time to decide. No rush .... we have a little angel to spend all our time with now! :)
